The Music
I tend to lean toward playing the classics and playing my own originals. I typically play around 50+ songs for a live event, so there is always something in there for everyone. I think the songs I play are more for a  relaxing atmosphere. Think piano bar, happy hour, or private party. I am willing to learn special requests for your event if you desire.

The Performance
My music performance is perhaps slightly different than the typical band. I typically play solo, but use some excellent processing gear to enhance my acoustic guitar and vocal sounds. I also enjoy putting together Duo/Trios if that is more to your liking. I jam with several other musicians regularly, and we do play live together from time to time.

One of the center pieces is a Digitech vocal harmonizer. I receive many compliments on how amazing it sounds and how much it adds to the overall song performance. At this time, I do not use pre-recorded tracks (aka - backing tracks), nor any other virtual instrumentation (drum machines, etc.). I know other artist who do, and they sound great doing so. I personally tend to like the flexibility I get from not playing with backing tracks or virtual instruments, but who knows what I might toy with in the future. One thing is for sure, the virtual drummer and bass guitar player never get tired and they are always on time... :)

The Equipment
I play mostly Martin Acoustic Guitars. I generally will play six string and 12 string guitars, depending on the songs. I also am experimenting with a Godin Spectrum SA Midi Guitar, which is a blast to play around with.

I have all my own professional audio gear. 4000 Watt QSC PA System, LED Lights, etc. All of my speakers are powered, so all I need is one 15 amp circuit. The entire LED light setup only draws 60 watts of electricity. I mention that, because a lot of places worry that a light show and power amps can blow circuit breakers. That is not going to happen with my setup. I also don't use any fogging or haze equipment, even though they make the lights look better :).

I recently added a BOSE System to my PA collection and choose that when ever possible. It is very fast to setup and has amazing sound for up to 250-300 people.

My setup time is about 30-45 minutes, unless I need to setup lights, or we are outside and will require tent setup and larger PA. For most indoor shows it will be fairly fast to setup and tear down.

The Cost
It is not my goal to get rich playing live gigs, but to simply make it worth my time. Alot of work goes into preparing, setting up, and actually playing a show. I typically ask for $100 per hour of play time, but every situation is unique. I have played smaller gigs for $150 on up, so I am sure we can find an agreement within your budget. Distance, playing time, equipment requirements, time frame, all play a role in the fee. Give me a call and we will work something out.

NOTE: I also will play "pro bono" for a good cause, so feel free to ask if I am available.
